"Game of Thrones" Season 3, Episode 2, titled "Dark Wings, Dark Words," continues to introduce new characters and plotlines, as well as to advance the conflicts and struggles of the previous episode.

The episode also introduces several new characters, including Brienne of Tarth, a skilled warrior in the service of Renly Baratheon, and Olenna Tyrell, the matriarch of House Tyrell, who is trying to secure a political alliance with the Lannisters.


The episode ends with Arya Stark, who is traveling with Gendry and Hot Pie, being captured by the Brotherhood Without Banners, a group of outlaws and rebels who are fighting against the Lannisters.
